Being 40 and entering the peri-menopause meant my monthlies started to change drastically and I was finding the new super-duper night-time foam pads just werent cutting it. I was having to get up 4 times a night and starting leaking, staining my clothing and mothers furniture which made me feel like I was losing control of my body. All due to the peri-floods and I just couldnt trust pads anymore making me constantly anxious and angry.
So I decided it was time for something different.. Enter the Wuka!
I recommend getting at LEAST 3 pairs.. on my heaviest days.. as an ark isnt a valid option, I can get through at least 3 of these in one day having one pair washed and drying, one being worn and one ready for the next change.. so stock up.
Shortly after buying these the Super heavy option came out... if like me you have trouble with front leakage with pads, I FULLY recommend you get them instead as the pad cos right up the front, in these they dont, which is the only let down for me. I have had minor front leakage with the heavy , but nothing to serious as yet.
As for sizing and style.. I have found them rather snug, I am usually 12-14 and bought a Large and I find them snug enough to bring about some further period pain, though they are still comfortable to wear.. To help avoid this I would recommend a style that is not as low cut.
I now have multiple pairs of Hipster pants in both medium and heavy flow and they're great! A lot less hassle than I thought they would be.
Only note is that I wish the absorbing pad came up a few more centimetres in the front but it's not a deal breaker.
Probably the comfiest pants I have, and they feel really dry the whole time which makes them feel a lot better than pads. No fuss and I’ve had no leaks at all. Closest you’ll get to not having to think about being on your period.
