I have a couple of these bags and they are perfect for carrying around spare pants. You can fit 2 pairs of heavy flow pants in them. Material and design is beautiful and even better that they are handmade. Highly recommend 👍
The Autism-Friendly Guide to Periods by Robin Steward
‘Changes during puberty, such as the onset of periods, are challenging for girls on the autism spectrum. Written from experience by an autistic woman, this straightforward guide to periods helps the reader to prepare in great detail, from hygiene to pain medication and sensory experiences to mood swings’.
Written by autistic author Robyn Steward, this is a detailed guide for young people aged 9 to 16 on the basics of menstruation. Created in consultation with young people, an online survey and a group of medical professionals, this is a book that teaches all people about periods, which can be a scary and overwhelming issue.
Promoting the fact that everyone either has periods or knows someone who does, the book reduces the anxiety girls face in asking for help. It offers direct advice on what periods look and feel like and how to manage hygiene and pain. It also breaks up information using flaps and step-by-step photos of how to change pads and tampons, it discusses alternatives to tampons and pads, and gives information about possible sensory issues for people with autism.

I talked about periods our autistic daughter a few years ago but wasn't quite sure how much of what I said had sunk in, so recently I brought it up again with this book, along with period pants. I want to make her ready when she starts school in September. She has enjoyed reading the book and is now more receptive to the idea.
I got this book for my 11-year-old daughter. She is autistic but loves reading books. I got this because I know she is about to start her period anytime soon. I wanted to give her the best start to her period. Got this book and tween period pants for her. We feel we are ready.
Thank you for writing this book.
