About Bloody Good Period

Bloody Good Period (BGP) is a charity that fights for menstrual equity and the rights of all people who bleed. Many refugees, people in the asylum system and those living in poverty simply cannot afford period products. People who menstruate often suffer because of the culture of embarrassment and shame that exists around this completely natural, biological process. No one should be at a disadvantage just because they menstruate.

BGP gives period products to those who can’t afford them and provide menstrual education to those less likely, or at a disadvantage to accessing it. They’re also helping to open up the conversation about periods and menstrual health.

BGP has worked with more than 100 partners around the country, distributing essential period products via food banks, drop-in centres for refugees and asylum seekers, community organisations and family support groups. The charity was founded by Gabby Jahanshahi-Edlin six years ago, and in that time has distributed over 250,000 packs of menstrual supplies throughout the UK.
