"My daughter, who is 15, loves her WUKAs. They make life so much easier, especially with school timings. She’s in the middle of exams at the moment and it’s one less thing to worry about.
I’m also trying to reduce waste and have switched to lots of plastic-free products. Wearing WUKAs is another way to help the environment.
Thank you! - Jennifer Burn
Being 40 and entering the peri-menopause meant my monthlies started to change drastically and I was finding the new super-duper night-time foam pads just werent cutting it. I was having to get up 4 times a night and starting leaking, staining my clothing and mothers furniture which made me feel like I was losing control of my body. All due to the peri-floods and I just couldnt trust pads anymore making me constantly anxious and angry.
So I decided it was time for something different.. Enter the Wuka!
I recommend getting at LEAST 3 pairs.. on my heaviest days.. as an ark isnt a valid option, I can get through at least 3 of these in one day having one pair washed and drying, one being worn and one ready for the next change.. so stock up.
Shortly after buying these the Super heavy option came out... if like me you have trouble with front leakage with pads, I FULLY recommend you get them instead as the pad cos right up the front, in these they dont, which is the only let down for me. I have had minor front leakage with the heavy , but nothing to serious as yet.
As for sizing and style.. I have found them rather snug, I am usually 12-14 and bought a Large and I find them snug enough to bring about some further period pain, though they are still comfortable to wear.. To help avoid this I would recommend a style that is not as low cut.
When I first bought it I didn’t know what it will be like so I bought a pack of 4. I have used it for 2months now and found it good and comfortable. I have not experienced any leakage during heavy flow and I have noticed that I change the pants as much as I would a pad.
One thing I would like to mention is the night time use, i have come across leakage whilst sleeping and I feel like it’s not because it's not absorbing but because of the design of the pants. It will be good if they make something that isn’t so in line with the lining of the groin to avoids leakage from that area. Apart from night time use I feel like those pants are really good to use throughout the day.
I now have multiple pairs of Hipster pants in both medium and heavy flow and they're great! A lot less hassle than I thought they would be.
Only note is that I wish the absorbing pad came up a few more centimetres in the front but it's not a deal breaker.
I bought a 5 of regular pants for my daughter age 12. ( WUKA Basics). I was so impressed with them I bought 3 of the Earth day pants for myself! They are soft and a lot more elegant. They have a lovely lace around the top. I'm a size 10 and I bought the medium and they fit perfectly. They look massive but once on they're fine.
I didn't want my awful experience of starting my periods at 11 to happen to my beautiful daughter. I choose WUKA for her and I'm so glad I did.
I love the story behind them the Earth day pants. As a teacher, I cannot just leave the room so I've had a few accidents in the past. I don't want this ever to be the experience for my daughter.
As a science teacher at my school, I also teach students ( girls and boys) about mensuration and I've shown them the WUKA website and what the pants do. Well done WUKA. Every teen girl in Stamford will want a pair! And every teen boy will know what they are!
My daughter (10) started her periods at the beginning of the year. Once restrictions lifted and we could get back to the pool, she was disappointed when she got her period (and I was frustrated at having to pay for lessons she couldn’t attend! No ones fault, just the way it is!).
We already had the hipster period pants for her, and she raves about them, so we thought we’d give the swimming briefs a go.
Genius product!! I cannot recommend them enough!
She puts them on under her swimming costume, and you’d never know they were there! Completely covered by her costume, but giving her the confidence to go to training lessons or swimming with her friends.
The longest she’s worn them was 2 hours (on day 2 of her period, so quite heavy), and no leakages at all.
My daughter (10) started her periods in lockdown. She was fine using sanitary towels, but the thought of having to change during school hours terrified her, and that was when we discovered Wuka period pants.
She has been using these for 5 months now. They have given her the ability to relax when she has her period! She wears one pair throughout the school day, then changes to a clean pair after school.
The pants fit well (I ordered her the XS - she has 76cm hips), we’ve had no leakages, and she says they are comfier than normal pants!
I ended up buying more (we have 8 pairs now!) because they do take a little longer than regular pants to dry (obviously!).
I will definitely be purchasing more pants in the future for my daughter, and I think I might buy some for myself too!
Very very good! Especially for nights!
Ordered these after receiving my first order of the basics pants. I was impressed by how soft and well made they were so I felt happy to shell out for the more expensive pairs.
The hype is real. These are the comfiest pants I've ever owned and they feel safe, snug and secure. I really wanted to buy from an ethical company . Knowing that these are sustainable and ethically made really adds to the experience of feeling like my bum is sat on a cloud
The customer service has also been fantastic. Thank you so much. I will recommend these to every woman I know.
I never write reviews but I've just woken up after my first night of trying these and I'm just amazed. I was comfy all night, no waking up to adjust or replace a pad that had become unstuck and no leaks! If you purchase these do make sure to size up by one or two sizes. I'm normally a 12/M but I ended up sizing up to 16/XXL but once you find your fit they are SOOOO comfy! I've tried so many products for my period and have always just felt frustrated but now I don't have to worry as long as I have these! Can't wait to buy a 5 pack of these on payday :) Thank you Wuka!
Just tried my first pair yesterday I've been wanting to try for ages and wow i wish i had done sooner! I really got sick of leaking in the night with pads troes many brands still same old sitiation well last night wore rhe medium flow ones all night no leaks fekt freah still completely converted more to be ordered soon no more pads or tampons!
"The WUKA underwear is amazing! It's an investment! Although sanitary products are initially cheaper in the long run and after only a month or two you've broken even! Aside from the cost, we NEED to save our planet and turn to reusable, plastic-free, living and WUKA is the answer! Finally and for me one of THE most important things, comfort!!! I find ALL sanitary products uncomfortable, itchy, irritable, annoying. WUKA has resolved this! The underwear is so comfortable I have been known to wear it when I'm not even on my period! Thank you, WUKA for creating fantastic 'period pants'!"
I have just received my 2nd pack of Wuka, love the thong for going to the gym. Got some briefs for under jeans - great. Wish i had bought some sooner. Packaging is great, no single use plastic. Impressed - well done!
I got the high waist heavy pants which were very comfortable. They felt very good quality. Unfortunately they didn’t even last me 2hrs. I’m hoping the more they are washed the more absorbent they are. At their current absorbency it Keane quite enough to justify the price tag.
I decided to trial my heavy flow high waisted pants at Thorpe park. It was a hot day and I was running on and off rollercoasters and water rides and I experienced no leaks 🙌🏽
The large comes up quite large and they are a bit padded which can make you feel like you are wearing a nappy, but overall I love these period pants and I have no need for pads and tampons anymore.
Probably the comfiest pants I have, and they feel really dry the whole time which makes them feel a lot better than pads. No fuss and I’ve had no leaks at all. Closest you’ll get to not having to think about being on your period.
