A POEM FOR OUR TIMES
Heavy is a poem for our times, it draws upon the experiences of real women with an empowering message of acceptance and recognition of the hidden experiences women have while on their period. The internal conflicts brought to life in a short video poem created to unashamedly talk about periods, especially heavy ones, the physical toll and the emotional journey women live each month.
It is nearly 2 years since I bought the first batch of WUKA period pants for my daughter. We had them delivered to France, because we were heading their on holiday. We were so excited when the arrived! They were perfect for her - she has a heavy flow and used to use pads that moved during the night or that she soaked through. The pants seem to absorb everything!
When the first Lockdown came, it was
Such a relief to have these pants and not have to worry about running out.
My daughter also said that the Period pants mean her actual knickers last much longer, because they don’t get stained and spoiled.
My daughter suffers from stress and anxiety, and your pants have really helped her get through her periods without meltdown!
My older daughter also uses your period pants after the birth of her first baby. She loves the high waist ones, as they cover up her ‘Mum Tum’!
I wish you every success with your company.
I love the material these pants are made from, there so soft, and they work really well. Although I haven’t had any leaks, I do wish the gusset came further up the back (like the Basic hipster pants) for peace of mind at night. I also wish they had a slightly higher rise to be more flattering on a mummy tummy. Also on the first wash the branding printed on the inside of the pants started to come off. This in no way affects the use of the product, but is just a bit disappointing from an aesthetic point of view. That being said, I love them and will be buying more.
Wuka pants for heavy days have made such a difference to my daughters confidence. Heavy periods in a youngster can be crippling. Wuka pants allow her to carry on with school and sport.
