Getting period pants changed my experience of periods. I was so fed up of sanitary towels; I am quite an active person, and maybe had some rubbish pads, but they just wouldn't stay in place, and, as a consequence, I would frequently leak. So I figured that as I usually had to wash stains out of my pants anyway, I might as well try period pants, as then I would be expecting to have to rinse them out. But washing them isn't too much of a faff, and it's actually quite therapeutic to rinse all the blood away. And, as well as feeling better about not using so many single use, wasteful products, I hardly ever leak anymore! There have been the odd occasion, when I haven't had time to change my pants for ages, or differences in the climate have caused a heavier flow than I was expecting, and they are also not very convenient when travelling, as they are quite bulky to pack, but for the most part, they are an absolute winner. Even for a whole day at work, I can just use the little wuka bag, with one zip up compartment for clean pants, and one for dirties, and then sort it all out when I get home.
I would really recommend them to everyone! I have loads of pairs, light, medium and heavy flow, and one pair of super heavy for night time. I think it is more economical to buy a lot at once, and then I just save some to replace the others when they get a bit past it.
